The Charles Hotel

Centrally located by the Alte Pinakothek and the Lenbachhaus, The Charles Hotel enjoys the calm backdrop of the Old Botanical Garden. Built in 2007 on the site of a former university library, the hotel was named in honour of renowned hotelier Charles Forte, father of Sir Rocco Forte and Olga Polizzi, while the Royal Suite, Monforte, bears the name of the Italian village from which the Forte family originated. The property boasts the city's most spacious rooms and the longest hotel indoor pool, offering true Bavarian service that is warm, personal, and understated.

Set within the verdant Lenbachgärten quarter close to historic Königsplatz, this effortlessly elegant hotel features 136 bedrooms starting from 40 square metres and 24 suites from 50 square metres. The Monforte Royal Suite can be combined with three additional suites to form 450 square metres of private space occupying an entire floor. All accommodations include marble and limestone bathrooms with separate bathtub, shower, and WC.

Sophia's restaurant offers botanical-themed dining with regional seasonal produce in a light-filled room or on a terrace facing the Old Botanical Garden, featuring weekday business lunches, weekend brunches with a complimentary Kids Club, and wintertime late-night digestifs by the open fireplace. The Library serves drinks, light meals, and snacks, with afternoon tea available Fridays to Saturdays from October to April.

The Charles Spa features a 15 by 8 metre indoor swimming pool, five treatment rooms including a double suite, a Finnish sauna, steam room, relaxation areas, and a gym. The ballroom, with five-metre ceilings, accommodates up to 300 guests for receptions, complemented by a foyer and separate access, while seven additional meeting rooms mostly benefit from natural daylight, alongside a business centre and 50 underground parking spaces.
