Gstaad Palace

The Gstaad Palace has welcomed guests since 1913. Still owned by the Scherz family in its third generation, it remains one of Europe's few family-run grand hotels — independent, rooted in its values, and shaped by genuine hospitality. High above Gstaad, the seasonal house offers 90 rooms and suites with views over the Bernese Oberland, where contemporary comfort meets alpine warmth.

Five restaurants present Swiss, Italian, and international cuisine, with Le Grill earning 16 GaultMillau points and Le Grand & La Terrasse 15 points. La Fromagerie and Gildo's operate in winter, while Gildo's Al Fresco serves Mediterranean dishes in summer. Evenings come alive at GreenGo nightclub. The 1,800-square-metre spa features an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, and treatment rooms offering massages and facials with Sisley, Augustinus Bader, and Jardin des Monts products, open daily 8:30 AM–8:00 PM. An Olympic-sized outdoor pool and four tennis courts are available in summer.

Accommodation includes 41 double rooms, 29 junior suites, 13 suites, two tower suites, and one penthouse suite. The Walig Hut, an authentic 1783 alpine hut, offers a peaceful summer retreat for up to four people.

Bars include the Lobby Bar, Le Bar du Grill, Snack Bar at the Spa, and Bar at the Piscine. Seminar facilities feature five event rooms for up to 300 people, including the legendary Salle Baccarat and the former Salle Chez Maxim's, which hosted stars such as Mireille Mathieu, Maurice Chevalier, Gilbert Bécaud, Louis Armstrong, and Ella Fitzgerald. Boutiques include Gioielliarte, Maison Lorenz Bach, Phillips Perpetual, Bacs & Russo, SilverSport, Palace Spa Boutique, and K. Auger Hair hairdresser. Sammy's Kids Club, a game room, outdoor playground, and a special peak-season programme ensure exceptional family moments, with the hotel proudly partnered with Worldwide Kids.
