Bahia del Duque

Opened in November 1993 in southern Tenerife, the Bahía del Duque Hotel fulfilled a long-held dream of local entrepreneurs to create a world-class luxury resort. Three decades later, it remains a symbol of exclusivity and impeccable service, located in the Costa Adeja region, renowned for its mild spring climate year-round. The hotel is part of The Tais Hotels & Villas chain, owned by Grupo CIO, a family-owned company with over 120 years of history in the Canary Islands.

Instead of the usual high-rise buildings, architect Andrés Piñeyro designed the 100,000 square meter site as a small, traditional Canarian village: nineteen low-rise detached houses immersed in greenery. Over 63,000 square meters are dedicated to tropical and subtropical gardens with palms, dragon trees, jacarandas, and cacti—this vegetation creates its own unique microclimate. The hotel is deservedly considered an eco-friendly benchmark in the region.

Bahía del Duque offers 346 rooms, 57 suites, and 40 villas, as well as three distinct accommodation areas. The exclusive Casas Ducales area, inspired by the architectural monuments of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, offers guests enhanced privacy, a separate reception area, and personalized service. The Las Villas (2008, designed by Pascua Ortega), with private pools, basalt finishes, and skylights, offer exclusive services, from in-villa dining to floating brunches and spa menus.
