The French are sophisticated gardeners, probably leading the way in this art since the 17th century. Paris is the capital of France, so the uniqueness of its parks is not surprising.
Of course, this is the most central park in Paris - the Luxembourg Garden (Jardin du Luxembourg), glorified by poets and artists and founded by the famous queen, Catherine de Medici. Previously, the Paris meridian passed here and before Greenwich was recognized as “zero” meridian, this is where the Center of the World was located. This is a beautiful park with a lot of history, breathtaking vistas and cozy, sophisticated corners.
In the Bois de Boulogne there is probably one of the most beautiful parks in France, Bagatelle (trifle). Grottoes and waterfalls, roses and water lilies, peacocks and swans, lawns and powerful trees, a small royal pavilion and an excellent restaurant, alleys of wisterias closing overhead, fields of tulips, sophisticated sculpture, gardens of fruits and vegetables... It’s hard to imagine a more amazing park!
In the Bois de Boulogne there is also the Jardin du Pré-Catelan - a charming park where there is a corner dedicated to Shakespeare and all the plants mentioned in his work.
The parks of Paris are harmony and beauty that await you!
