Situated on the southern shore of a small but stunning Balearic island, Teranka is a blissful boutique hotel in tune with the rhythms of nature. The hotel’s name translates as “a place of safe anchorage.” With the scent of pine forest in the air and panoramas of white sand and azure sea, this sheltered seaside estate sets the perfect scene. Guests can step into the perfect landscape, settle in the shade of an olive tree and take it all in.

Inside, minimalist design and maximum comfort define the rooms and suites. Spread across three buildings – Mar, Tierra and Cielo – each promises ocean, forest or stunning views that stretch all the way to the top of La Mola. Each has its own personality, whether it’s the sun-warmed Formentera stone walls or the starlit rooftop suites. That spirit carries over to the main restaurant, Teranka Garden. Or guests can simply order lunch (and cocktails) to be served in the pool house.

The “no news, no shoes” policy also applies to Playa Migjorn, with its powder-coated sand and turquoise sea. It’s a pleasure to do nothing. But those looking for wildlife should head to the UNESCO-protected Ses Salines d’Eivissa Natural Park, home to flocks of flamingos.
